was considered the better flyer. He fought often against Baron von Richthofen
(The Red Baron) and his Flying Circus and won the Victoria

dozens of German aircraft, and though wounded, managed to shoot down four enemy
planes. The Manitoba native thrilled troops below who witnessed the amazing dogfight
from the trenches. |
