But all the gains and glory of the Hundred Days Offensive cost Canada dearly. The last months of the war resulted in almost 50,000 casualities and 11,000 deaths, making it the bloodiest season of a gruesome war.

The 100 Days Offensive led to the end of the war and to the Treaty of Versailles, a peace treaty that was decidedly not in the Central Power's favour. Prior to the Offensive, the Germans had hoped for a very different kind of peace plan that would have greatly expanded Germany's size and influence in Europe.
